What happens after the deadline
Housing Connect puts every application, online and paper, into a random order called the lottery log. Your place in that order is your log number.
The marketing agent, Bronx Pro Group, reviews the priority groups listed above first. Everyone else follows in log number order, New York City residents ahead of non-residents.
HPD says you may hear back 2 to 12 months after the deadline, or not at all if the building fills before your number comes up. If you are contacted, the deadline to send documents is short. Watch your email and your Housing Connect account. What each Housing Connect status means.
Later vacancies here are filled as re-rentals. Under a temporary HPD and HDC waiver with an expected end date of April 30, 2027, certain buildings fill them without a Housing Connect mini-lottery: they advertise openings publicly and take applicants first come, first served or from a waiting list.
