Why we built RentReboot

We knew the routine: too many rental sites, too many open tabs, and good apartments disappearing while you were still trying to work out whether the listing was legitimate or the building might be rent-stabilized. We wanted one place that could watch the market, connect listings with useful public records, and tell renters when something worth checking appeared.

That became RentReboot. Adam is my co-founder, not a footnote. This page has my name because I am the named author and reviewer on many of our guides and data reports, but we built the company together.

What I work on

I work across the product, listing data, and renter research. A normal day can include checking why a listing was classified a certain way, reviewing a market analysis, fixing something renters can see, or rewriting a guide that makes a claim we cannot support clearly enough.

On pages that link here, I review the answer, sources, method, and important updates before publication. I try to keep a clear line between what our data suggests and what it can actually prove. A building-record match, for example, is useful evidence to investigate—not proof that a specific apartment is legally rent-stabilized.

A note on renter guidance

I am not an attorney. For housing rules, we prefer the agency responsible for the rule and point readers to that agency or qualified counsel when the answer depends on their specific facts. If we get something wrong, I want to know about it and correct it in public.
