What the extension does.
Does the extension prove that an apartment is rent-stabilized?
No. It can show that a StreetEasy listing mentions rent stabilization or that the address matches building-level rent-stabilization records. A building can contain both regulated and unregulated apartments. Request the apartment’s rent history from New York State HCR for a unit-level determination.
Can RentReboot alert me about future rent-stabilized listings?
Yes. The extension links to RentReboot’s alert setup, where renters choose a budget, neighborhoods, bedrooms, and delivery preferences. RentReboot then sends matching future listings by email or text according to the selected plan and settings.
What browsing data does the extension use?
On supported StreetEasy pages, the extension sends the normalized listing or building URL to the RentReboot checker API. Successful results are cached locally for up to six hours. It does not collect unrelated browsing history or sell browsing data.
